Chanakyapuri was established in the year 1950 and it was named after the famous advisor and Prime minister in the court of great Mauryan king Chandragupta Maurya whose name was Chanakya.

The area of Chanakyapuri is surrounded with green gardens and parks and is well maintained due to the political importance. It is almost nearby the prime minister’s residence.

Before the extension of Chanakyapuri, there were very fewer numbers of schools and colleges so it became a famous place during that for the construction of educational institutes. The oldest university situated here was established by the SAARC countries it is still running in the Akbar Bhawan.

There are also many other famous places in Chanakyapuri where people of all age group can visit and enjoy. The first and foremost of all is the National Rail Museum, which shows the hereditary of the Indian railways.

It depicts everything about how rail as a mode of transport was started in India. There are two famous gardens located in the Chanakyapuri which are named as National Rose Garden and Nehru Park.

The National Rose Garden opens for the public in the month of December and January. Here the person can find every possible variety of roses. Nehru Park was established in the year 1965 and is dedicated to Jawaharlal Nehru. Along with the above-mentioned places, Chanakyapuri is the best host for many other places also.
